Career Path
“Originally, I did not choose physical therapy - it chose me.
While growing up, I was very into fitness and working out, and I
dislocated my shoulder regularly. At age 19, I underwent surgery and
then needed physical therapy to restore my arm movement. I went to a
physical therapist and discovered a whole new world! It involved exercise,
fitness and medicine, which has always interested me. Nine years later I had
my Masters degree in PT and here I am.”
Physical Therapy Degree
Master of Science in Physical Therapy, New York Medical College....Valhalla, NY.....1998
Undergraduate Degree
Bachelor of Science in Biology, Purchase College, State University of New York.........Purchase, NY.......1994
Rewards
“Probably the most rewarding aspect of my work is being able to connect with people in a truly meaningful way. You
need to get to know patients quickly, find out what makes them tick, figure out psycho-emotionally how they are going to be
responding to pain, physical challenges and limitations along their path to recovery. I love being able to help them down
the path to healing and becoming their functional best. The connection I make with my patients becomes a bond of trust and
friendship by the time they are done with treatment and that compels me every day.”

My Patients
“What I love most about working with my patients is the human interactions and personal connections - it feeds my hugely social nature. It is challenging to make something that is not always fun into an enjoyable experience. One day, my patients will be able to look back on our work together and say, ‘Hey, that wasn’t too bad.’ Of course, having them refer family members and friends is the ultimate gesture of thanks for a job well done and is hugely appreciated.”

What I Offer My Patients
“Experience. Over the course of my career, I have treated thousands of patients which have taught me exactly what to expect when a patient comes in with the same condition. Instantly I can see if we are starting off well ahead of the game, how long we can expect rehab to take, and how to counsel the patient. Being able to evaluate patients in a matter of minutes tells the patient a great deal about me and my experience, what to expect, and instills their trust in me right away. Patients also appreciate that I am able to put them at ease quickly and build a rapport with them.” |
