Occupational Therapy
Promotes the independent function and optimal performance of individuals. They work
with patients to restore functioning and well being, to remediate limitations to independence
and to adapt for impairments or disabilities.“Occupations” are the activities we as individuals
perform in the normal course of our daily lives.
Speech Therapy
Focuses on receptive language, which is the ability to understand words spoken to
you, and expressive language, which is the ability to use words to express yourself. It also focuses on the
mechanics of producing words, such as articulation, pitch, fluency and volume. Adults may need speech therapy
after a stroke or traumatic accident that changes their ability to use language. Children often require speech
therapy due to developmental disorders, delayed learning or swallowing problems.
Body Owners Physical Therapy & Wellness Center’s Occupational and Speech Therapy specialists offer a broad
range-of-services to meet a wide variety of patient needs.
